Barn Charm: On A Parking Lot...

This barn sits on the back side of the parking lot for a local auction place. The man who drove up in his pickup to see what I wanted didn't appear to be very friendly, and his dogs were barking at me as they came from around the corner of the barn, so I didn't stay to chat and ask questions. Auctions are held next door to this barn twice a month, so maybe I'll stop by then and see if I can sneak a peek inside - with my camera in my pocket.
I'm always intrigued by this barn whenever I drive past, so I finally drove right in to snap a photo.
And that's all I got - just one photo.

  1. Sad he was so grouchy.

Had a similar thing happen to us in town once when we were fishing.

Glad nothing happened to you. ♥

  3. you got a good one!! usually my first 10 or so shots are soooo crooked. i don't edit (don't know how) so i need it to be good, straight out of the camera.

i am so friendly ;))) and i always think everyone else will be as well. i always think peeps will be so happy to see me, to tell me stories. most of the time, that's how it goes BUT sometimes, not so much. i have been greeted and chased by the best of them ;)))

  6. I'm okay with dogs...if they stay in their own yards. Nice barn!

  7. Great capture. Old barns are loaded with photo-ops, the texture of the weathered boards. cob-webs, light filtering in through dusty windows, oh I could go on and on. There's a lot of inspiration there.

  10. I too love barns! We have an old one that we can see from our family room window. It belongs to an elderly neighbor man. I love peering out at it. Hubby and I bought a photo of an old barn while vacationing in Idaho. This man sold his photograpy in the town park. I have not bought a frame for it yet. This reminds me to do so. Hope you get to peek inside!
    Hugs,

  12. Going to the auction sounds like a good cover-up to get some more photos. You are brave - I see old farm structures I want to photograph, and then my imagination goes wild, thinking about what horrors I might find in or around those places!

  14. At least you got one good shot. :-)

I was honked at once by the owner of a barn I was shooting. I was on the public road, but he honked and scared the heck out of me as he drove by and into his driveway.
